This might ruin the film if you have not seen it.

I am a real big Johnny Depp fan but this movie wasn't what most people would want it to be. First of all there was not that much gore. I know gore is cheap but we still want to see it, a whole lot of it. Second, it is the same plot every other ripper movie has had. I know that this is the most realistic account of what really happened but this is Hollywood, spice it up some. Heather Graham is no help but I believe that her two friends are the talent everyone was looking for. I thought the soundtrack was great though and the costumes but that is about it.

I also am a big Johnny Depp fan, but this film wasn't at all a disappointment to me. I knew a bit about the film and on what it was based before seeing the movie, so I didn't really expect the gore, but I must say that the gore that is there is quite striking. Not turning the whole film into a gore fest helped intensify the included violence and various viscera. Overall, I would say that From Hell is quite good.

i would agree, i liked it. It kept me interested and thinking. There probably wont be any major awards going to it, but i thought it was good.
