Attendance: 2001/10/25 19:20, Regal River Oaks Cinema 8, Decatur, AL, Aud. 5, Flat

I went into this one expecting a fairly dumb movie, and I was right. However, the movie was a bit better than expected. The "Corko Romano" character's mannerisms got tiring after a while and in some scenes, I wished someone would hit him in the facce with something hard. This is the type of movie where the objective is to cheer yourself up a bit and kill a few brain cells. However, for that purpose, there are some better choices, like "Dude, Where's My Car" or "Freddy Got Fingered". "Corky Romano" will probably fail the "Will I buy the DVD?" test, meaning that I rate in the lower half of the movies I've seen. The movie did succeed in cheering me up. I was in quite a depressed state when I first went in the theatre, due to the gloomy weather and relative emptiness of the parking lot and neighboring mall on this Wednesday night. I left in a much more cheerful, light-hearted mood, so the movie did its job.

This has only been the third movie I've seen since the September 11 events. Seldom have I gone 6 weeks without seeing more movies.

The presentation was flawless (Film Done Right) and this attendance brought Regal River Oaks Cinema 8 up a tenth from "-0.6" to "-0.5" in my presentation quality review system (this corresponds to a change from 99.4 to 99.5 using my old system). My area could definitely use more managers like Ralph Freehauf. At this location, there hasn't been a single point deducted for any presentation defects this entire year (8 attendances so far).

Bravo to this theatre!

IMHO, "Film Done Right" depends on people who do the best they can with what they are given to work with. They take the time to learn how to do things right, make the best of the equipment and facilities they have to work with, and pay attention to the details important to presentation quality.
