No mans land won the oscar and (i think?) the golden globe for best foriegn film, deserved or not , this is a great film!.
I have become quite fond of films set around the bosnian/serb war, i find that their sense of homour gives great depth to a film on or around war.
This film in particular provides a simple premise of two soldiers from opposing sides stuck together in a trench, while the UN tries to get them out, the resulting mayhem provides many great statements on war.
This is most certainly a film worth seeing !.
Some other great former yugoslav films that i have seen are UNDERGROUND by emir kusterica, WELCOME TO SAREJEVO by michael winterbottom and BEATIFUL PEOPLE by i cant remember.

Brad, I haven't seen No Man's Land Yet, but I had almost forgotten Kusurtica's Underground.(Therefore this is a bit off-topic, so forgive me) That was such an amazing film. His films can be hard to come by in the States, but Underground should be in print in VHS here and abroad. Don't let the near 3 hour running time scare you away. It is an entertaining, enlightening and hilarious film!

We are running No Man's Land right now. Boy did they screw up the release of this film.

I played it last September at the Telluride Film Festival. Then it dropped off the radar.

Then it won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film. We couldn't get a copy because everybody wanted one.

Then it won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film and we still couldn't get a copy.

Then in spite of the fact that all of their 35mm prints were fully booked and there was a waiting list for them, they released it on home video!

We finally got a print, but it didn't live up to it's potential.

By the way, they are still fully booked with their 35mm prints.
