06/02/2002/ Cinemark 17, Springfield OR, #14, 12:00 noon, flat, probably SR-D. Attendance about 50. Image was kind of jittery (vertically) but otherwise things were OK.

I would say "Nice Try". Unfortunately the real laughs are few and far between. It was mildly amusing at best (well, OK, about 2 people in the theatre seemed to think it was hysterically funny). I guess it didn't suck too bad but I expected it to be funnier. It's a good thing it's not very long.

Billy Dee Williams looked embarrassed to be in it. Chris Kattan was a disappointment too.

I found this to be pretty darn funny. And David, Chris Kattan is always a dissapointment, no matter what he does (i.e. Corky Romano). Defects: Blue fade before faulty lab splice after Feather "shakes his groove thang".

I saw this one today, and I have to admit it wasn't that bad. It had its funny moments(Chris Kattan NOT being in any of them), but the movie didn't really live up to what I thought it would be.

And, as usual, all the best stuff was in the trailer.

Attendance: 2002/06/18 19:10, Carmike 10, Huntsville, AL, Auditorium 4, Dolby Digital, Flat

When I saw the trailer, this movie looked very dumb and I wasn't interested in seeing it. However, last Saturday night, after a "movie night" at my house, a couple of people that were over talked about how funny it was, so I decided I'd see it. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie far exceeded my expectations for funniness. It was a dumb comedy, of course, but I think this movie is a great comedy for black people of all races!

This morning, after seeing that movie last night, I find myself wanting to listen to songs like the ones used in the movie.

The theatre's presentation quality was excellent.
