Author Topic: The Truth About Charlie Mike Schindler Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1039 From: Oak Park, IL, USA Registered: Jun 2002 posted 10-25-2002 03:00 AM                     There's definitely some worthwhile stuff in this movie. It's funny and rather suspenseful. Thandie Newton is great. She's very charismatic and a lot of fun to watch. I also kind of liked how it was in that new-wavish style, although I felt like it was pretending to be a new wave film more than actually embodying that spirit. However, this film is not nearly as good as the original. It has a strange problem where it's less complex yet more confusing than CHARADE. I don't see how this happens, but it does. But on the whole, this version works well enough.  |  IP: Logged James R.
