'Hope Springs' is the new film by the british director, Mark Herman, who lives in my home City of York here in the U.K.

It is the first of 3 films he is to shoot in the USA. His previous films to name a few are 'Brassed Off', 'Little Voice' and 'Purely Belter'.
Hope Springs stars Colin Firth, Minnie Driver and Heather Graham.
It is a romantic film about Colin Fiths character who is named Colin by chance! who moves to a small town called 'Hope' to escape his ex fiance played by Minnie Driver.
Colin is an artist and falls for Heather Grahams character within the first reel of the flick, you can guess the out come allready!
Im not going to go into too much detail as is really is a poor film, and tries to be funny like 'Bridget Jones Diary', but the combination of a poor script and the fact that Colin Firth character isn't complimented by others to make his lead roll interesting enough.
The Film is presented in Scope and looks very grainy (A super 35 blow up???) but the photgraphy is good.
The sound design is bland and thers is little use of the surrounds.
Film is relesed by BVI and opens in the U.K. in early May i believe.
Marks out of ten... 6
