Author Topic: Japanese Story Peter Berrett Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 602 From: Victoria, Australia Registered: Nov 2000 posted 09-28-2003 02:08 AM                        Attendance: Palace Como Cinemas Sept 16 (Melbourne Premiere). Toni Collette turned up for the premiere said all of 6 words and then disappeared! After the film I went over to my in-laws place and saw her being interviewed about the film on Rove Live. Obviously she must have ducked next door to the Channel 10 studios which are next to the Como cinemas. Not much to say about the film. The photography of the north west of Australia and some mining operations is superb but that is about as far as it goes. Half of the film could pass as a BHP training video. Not much of a plot and some fairly wooden acting. Amazingly this got rated 4 1/2 stars (out of 5) on the movie Show by David and Margaret. I can't agree. Rating: 1 pile of (out of 5 piles of ) cheers Peter At least at the premiere there were free chockkie coated raspberries and champagne  |  IP: Logged Brad Haven Master Film Handler Posts: 300 From: fremantle, West Australia Registered: Aug 2001 posted 09-28-2003 11:42 AM                     this is doing VERY good business at our cinema. i haven't had the time to go in and watch the whole film yet, but it does look good from what i've seen. not much to it, i do agree, but i do feel it is worth seeing, toni collette's performance (in the film) was very good, not so good in promotion though, her comments about BHP BILITON raping the earth (in an interview) were uncalled for. this film was proudly shot in west australia, in the PILBARA REGION  |  IP: Logged
