Clint Eastwood really shows his depth as a director in this one, with a film that is perfectly cast and beautifully edited. The film is wonderfully complex and psychologically tense, with as many layers as the peeling paint on most of the old Boston houses he uses in his exteriors. It kept me going for its entire length and then made me think some more when I left the theater. I give it a [thumbsup] and predict an Academy nomination. An excellent showing at the Hamilton AMC-24, a theater that usually does a fine job of presentation. They've replaced their pre-film slides with video projection that is almost as bright as their films...a definite improvement, even if you can count the pixels from ten rows back.
