Overall I thought this movie wasn't that bad. The storyline was a little dry but the actors were very good. The actress that played Katie was very beautiful and she danced very well. She and Javier had good chemistry on screen.

Patrick Swayze is almost ancient. He does have an important role in the film though. I think they could've gone into more detail with the poor treatment of Cubans by the people in the Country Club.

The love story was a typical movie romance. The best part of this film was the music. I have always been a fan of Cuban music and other Latin styles. I liked the music a lot better in this one than the original (all that music was cheesy 80's stuff). Good Film if you like music and dancing mixed with a teenage love story.

2.5/5
