Hi all

This film hasn't opened yet but I have a question unrelated to a reveiw of the film which I would like an answer to.

Is this a remake in any way of Towering Inferno? This question is asked in all seriousness as there must be a temptation to rework a lot of the old film's plot into the new film. I understand that Towering Inferno was actually filmed in the Twin Towers as well.

Regards Peter

Peter

Even though it's Oliver Stone at the helm [Eek!] , I believe it's about the events of 9/11.

This film is not a remake of Towering Inferno. It is the story of two Port Authority officers who get trapped in the rubble after one of the towers collapses

No... It was filmed entirely in California. Fox sound stages were used for the action scenes. Other scenes (lobby shots, office shots, etc.) were filmed in San Francisco, where the story takes place. A bank was used for exterior shots and a hotel was used for lobby scenes. Many of the firemen seen are real San Francisco firemen.
