Of course, it has Will Ferrel. But what was excellent about it? Now that I am out of the industry and must actually pay to see films, I want details so I can make an informed decision. [thumbsup]

My opinion is more than enough reason for someone to go see a movie. The details are irrelevant.

Precisely why I called "not it" way ahead of screening night.

This film is actually really good, I wouldn't say excellent but it is very good. It is an intelligent comedy that relies on clever dialogue and wit to propel the story forward and not the usual dick & fart jokes most of todays comedies rely on.
3 stars out of 4, would've been 3 1/2 stars but they cast Queen Latifa in a speaking role so -1/2 star.

Good movie. Not as good as the comedy classic, Anchorman, but still pretty good.

CINEMA: Megaplex 17 at Jordan Commons, Sandy, UT
AUDITORIUM: 4
PRESENTATION: 35MM/DTS
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: Two perpetually guffawing fat chicks a couple seats over
RATING: Four stars (out of four)

WARNING: "I don't need literature on the nicotine patch. I smoke Spoilers."

Will Ferrell plays an IRS agent who is suddenly struck with a voice in his head narrating his every move. This gives Ferrell the ability to deliver his best performance ever (like that's hard). This is NOT your typical Ferrell role.

Throw in Emma Thompson, Dustin Hoffman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and a creative screenplay, and...WOW. Going any further into the details would ruin the experience. Basically, it has a "Being John Malkovich" vibe to it. Not quite that clever, but it was still brilliant. My favorite of the year.

(EDIT: Anybody else notice that two of the IRS office co-workers were the guys from the Sonic Drive-In commercials?)
