***SPOILERS AHEAD***
THE WATER HORSE is a good, but not great, ride that expands the Loch Ness monster tale. Tugs your heartstrings much like ET did, in fact, you might be able to describe it as sort of FREE WILLY meets ET. Kids will go for it as there's a 12 YO boy who finds the creature as an egg, hatches and brings it up (albeit that it grows up way too quickly.) Disbelief must be suspended more than most, but it is a fairy/monster kids' tale in the best tradition. It's getting to the point that CGI is done so well that you really accept the creature a being in the same world as the live actors. The crowd liked it.
11 out of 15 stars for me as it worked for me and does the job for its intended audience.
