It doesn't open until 11/26 in a limited engagement, but I saw it at a screening today, and my movie companion and I both thought it was excellent. The whole audience was thoroughly engrossed and there was good applause at the end.
Colin Firth is very good, but I expect big recognition for Geoffrey Rush in the role as the speech therapist. The story sounds odd, about a speech therapist aiding a Royal to rid himself of his stammer, but the actors are all so good, the script smart and funny, it makes perfect sense. Helena Bonham Carter is excellent as the Queen Mum.
It was really nice to come out of a move saying what a great movie it was, and not that it was okay, but would be just fine waiting for DVD.
