Gladiator (2000) meets Volcano (1997) meets Titanic (1997) meets total write-off...

Hey, if we don't mind that Romans speak fluent American English, why should anybody give a damn about getting the geography even remotely right?

And luckily, Volcanic eruptions come with perfect timing built right in. In need of a dramatic interlude? A moment to grieve for the fallen ones? No problem, nature is at your director's command, just push any key to continue.

And BTW: RED: You suck (all what's left of cinematography right out of the movie).

I had hoped to see this in the theater but from what I read from the reviews - it's a lot of plodding before the real juice of the film flows - (i.e, the Volcanic eruption) - where a lot of crap blows up and humans and Roman buildings got suckered punched by lava, fumes, and ash ... will wait to rent this on blu-ray, since I think it's slowly leaving theaters at this point in time.
