CINEMA: B&B Ankeny 12 & B-Roll Bowling, Ankeny, IA
AUDITORIUM: 2
PRESENTATION: B&B GRAND screen Recline-o-Vision stadium seating with butt warmers, dts:X, and 4k projection from freaking laser beams
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None [Cool]
RATING: Three stars (out of four)

THE PLOT: Parabellum is a dish best served violently. Wackiness ensues.

This is the best of the John Wick movies. Best script, best fight scenes, best sets, and most fun overall. There's tons of deaths by gun and sword of course, but also by use of dog, horse, library book, and more. The one thing to overlook...or maybe embrace...is the primary bad guy is played by the same guy who played The Chairman on Iron Chef America. (Naturally, his first scene is in a restaurant kitchen.)

Every punch, kick, drop, and gunshot are exaggerated with resounding thumps so seek out a theatre with a killer sound system to see this in. This is the first John Wick movie I wouldn't mind seeing again.

We got zero inquiries about the first two John Wick movies, but people are asking for this one all over the place. I think it looks like a piece of crap myself but you can't argue with butts in the seats.

Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% out of 202 reviews counted. Very much in the "certified fresh" territory. 92% audience score.

They use a Commodore 64 for their dispatch system in the organization's headquarters. I'm pretty sure they did that in the other two movies as well. I notice because the C64 was my very first computer.

And that chess set in the glass room is very cool indeed.

I don't think it helped that I missed the second one, jumping into the third movie so little of it made sense. The action scenes though are amazing and the glossy sleek cinematography looked like a Dolby Cinema presentation on a non-Dolby Cinema auditorium - outstanding!!
