Posts: 1431 From: Waukee, IA Registered: Dec 2004 posted 06-02-2019 01:16 AM                        CINEMA: Regal East Warren, Wichita, KS AUDITORIUM: 14, SEAT: G15 PRESENTATION: Warren GRAND standard slope seating auditorium with Regal Orange is the New Crown Roller Coaster Vision PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None RATING: Two stars (out of four) THE PLOT: A teen burns the bacon. Wackiness ensues. There’s a whole lot of WTF going on here (even one of the characters points this out) until the movie takes a breather about 30 minutes in to explain itself. After that, at least we understand what’s going on, but it’s not much fun to watch. The monster battles are vague at best and the battle footage keeps getting interrupted by cutting to human melodrama happening in the background as if they were undercut on the special effects budget and they had to fake it. Mothra makes an appearance. The filmmakers have to find something interesting for each of the characters to do and that's not easy to accomplish with a cast of (in this case) 17 monsters. I found the story rather hard to follow, too. But there's sure a lot of stomping around and roaring going on. A one-word description of this movie would be Bombastic. A lot of people around here want to see it, based on the number of people who have been talking about the poster and pointing it out to each other.
