Author Topic: Shaft (2019) Sam Graham AKA: "The Evil Sam Graham". Wackiness ensues. Posts: 1431 From: Waukee, IA Registered: Dec 2004 posted 06-19-2019 01:18 PM                        CINEMA: Fridley Palms & IMAX, Waukee, IA AUDITORIUM: 4, SEAT: E8 (which is really B8 but there's no A, B, or C rows) PRESENTATION: Fridley Recline-o-Vision stadium seating with butt warmers, really hard to figure out seat controls, Dolby Atmos, and mystery meat digital PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None RATING: Three stars (out of four) THING I LEARNED TODAY: Apparently EVERY AUDITORIUM IN THE BUILDING that isn't the IMAX has Dolby Atmos. ALL OF THEM. Freaky, man. THE PLOT: Metrosexuals are stupid. Wackiness ensues. The movie opens with a flashback backstory that has more Shaft to it than Samuel L Jackson's entire first Shaft movie. We lead into Shaft's estranged son enlisting his father to help him figure out what happened to his friend. That leads to a loose plot wrapped around outdated jokes when the modern man and a blaxploitation legend's worlds collide. You'll either roll your eyes or you'll laugh a lot. I laughed. A lot. Expecting something deeper?
