Wait !
All of us, as people from the Motion Picture Industry and people outside it – the general public, are just too aware of the ever dumbing down of movies and it has become very common these days for people who catch a film to jovially caution their friends to also 'go watch that movie' and 'remember to check your brain right at the doorway'.
Week after week, we have these ! These days, a huge 'nonsense' is lined up every Friday. People continuously complain, yet turn up to see these very stuff …
In the light of all these, why don’t we theatre owners make room for some outdoor fun for our patrons ?
That is, create the services of a 'BRAINKEEPER'.
What this service does ?
It is a symbolic act of asking people to "remember that their experience of any film could benefit from viewing it less critically and that by doing so, they could get just as much fun as the film makers intended". Further, this symbolic act goes a bit further and asks people to take a few seconds to act out this brain checking thing at the 'BRAINKEEPER COUNTER'. And a usher gives those who check their brains, a coupon as proof of safekeeping. Of course, these coupons need not be returned. People need not get back their brains at the end of the show. These coupons could just be some small strips of paper. (Who knows, if this concept grows in the days to come, a theatre may get some advertiser to sponsor the whole affair and in turn, make some money too out of this. After all, this is Hollywood.)
Just imagine all the fun you would be providing to your patrons ? Can you imagine how much laughter you helped to generate out of this simple thing ? I am sure some people will generously avail of these services ! And laugh all the way into the auditorium ! And when out of it !
For now, hope nobody has any patent or registration as 'BRAINKEEPER' !
