I'm going to have to go with Mike. New Years Eve and Day can be surprisingly busy, even the late show on New Years Eve. Not everyone likes to party.

We run our regular schedule on all days, except we are always closed Christmas Eve. We generally just run matinees on Saturday.

Christmas Eve - mats only
Christmas Day - closed all day
New Year's Eve - no 9pm shows

I'm sure we'd make a ton of money on Christmas Day, but the owner likes to give everyone the chance to be with their families. I definitely appreciate it.

Not necessarily, depends on the films out. Even with Return of the King we weren't all that busy last year.

Typically, the New Years Day and the Saturday after Christmas are two of the busiest days of the year in our market. It is not uncommon to surpass 12/25 receipts on 1/1. I don't understand why, unless folks are beginning to stay home with family... which is a good thing.

Your milage may vary, but it sure is nice to have that extra little time to spend with my own family. I'm of the opinion that on 12/24 you drop the last show of the night, and on 12/15 you drop the first set, with the first shows onscreen at 4pm.

Dustin, did you have to read Monday Morning Customer Service recently? [Smile]
