I have the ticket printer pictured below that I need to know the manufacturer for. There are no markings on it to identify the model or manufacturer. I know the Carmike I used to work at used these. Were they specially made for them? If anyone has a manual that would be superb [thumbsup] Thanks for your help.

Carmike's concessions POS was their own, if memory serves me well, and I remember those from the Carmike 15-plexes around here, so I'm assuming it's theirs too. But somebody from Carmike here would know for sure.

Yes and no. Carmike's POS equipment is made/supported by Logical Solutions Incorporated. I have heard various things over the years about the relationship between logical/Carmike. Though perhaps a wholey owned subsidiary at one time I believe logical is currently an independant company. I also believe they are a one client business-ie they only serve Carmike. Whether that is by design or choice I don't know.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Oops. Sorry Brad.

Thanks for the links. Those were very helpful. I called the company and the lady I spoke to said they didn't service those anymore. She said it was very old and most people there don't know anything about them. I just wanted to make sure I plug the ribbon cables in the right places. Some of them were unplugged.

Is that one of the older ribbon style print head or is it a thermal print head?

Looks like one of the older thermal units. Pretty solid unit, as long as you don'ttry and remove and install the print head with power on. They run $700 or so if I recall correctly.

Call Mike Chauncey at Logical Solutions. He's got all the 'know' about these units.

I'll grab my trusty digicam and try and take some descent pictures of where ours are hooked up. Lucky for you we're the bastard theatre in the carmike chain and are still using the IQ-0 system.
