Hi all,

I am as of friday taking over an existing theater. Its currently pseudo-second run and needs some TLC, but I will be taking it first run.
I will be renovating the lobby this week and re-opening next friday after which renovations will be on going.
I will be using RTS for POS which people here seem to like.
Now I like to think i've covered most of my bases an what I need to do, but ... (I've been a theater manager before for a long time)
One thing i'm stumped on is showtimes. No one seems to know how these work. My film buyers tell me they dont know the mechanism, but they say that when my times are in RTS they will just "magically" be sent everywhere they need to go.
Is this true ? Or is there some listing service I need to sign up with ?
Has anybody here signed up to sell on Fandango ?I want to sell on there as well but I cant find anything on Fandango about "theater sign up".

Anybody can shed light on this process ? (theater is Florida)

Thanks !!!

Where I work we sell on Fandango and use RTS. Contact RTS and they will help get it setup. There is a setup fee from RTS to set it up. RTS can be configured to email Rentrack if you want and other gross reporting agencies. It may be possible for it to send gross sheets to the studios as well

Yeah the grosses are setup to go automatically, I had to call comscore to get that setup.
I just hope the fandango setup can be quick ... its something i kind of forgot about and its getting to be last minute. But yeah, I guess rts will know what to do. They doing my setup on Friday.

Hi Armand,

Please pay notice to the posted rules of this forum. Teaser subject titles are not permitted. Please edit your first post to make this thread's subject title something more telling than just "advice".

Sorry - I didnt see it as a "teaser" subject - the subject was "advice" and I asked advice about how to deal with fandango. I will try to change the subject to be more specific to "fandango advice". (although anybody who wants to offer any other advice about taking over a theater is welcome too .....)

edit - I tried to edit original post ....but it doesnt look like it accepted it. Feel free to delete thread if its objectionable. Sorry ....

We're a small operation (1 screen) so just we use our own website for our showtimes. I don't send them out to anyone or post them anywhere else online, but they do "magically" appear in various places on the web. Google always seems to have them, and other sites too. I don't know how it works.

I still always advise people that our website is the definitive place to go for our showtimes, just in case the magic ever stops working.

I have a mailing list of people who get an email from me every week. Some of those listing websites are subscribed to the mailing list.

This is my mailing list management program if it's of any use to you.

Having your showtimes listed on Fandango is relatively easy. Just send your show times to Tribune Media. Selling on Fandango probably isn't necessary unless you are going to be playing movies on the break.
