Fireman's PrayerWhen I am called to duty God Where ever flames may rage Give me the strength to save a life What ever be its age Help me embrace a little child Before its too late Or save an older person From the horror of that fate Enable me to be alert To hear the weakest shout And quickly and efficiently To put the fire out I want to fill my calling And to give the best in me To guard my neighbor And protect his property. And if according to your will I have to lose my life Bless with your protecting hand My loving family from strife. The name of the author of this traditional prayer has been lost to history.

Policeman's PrayerOh almighty God Whose great power and eternal Wisdom embraces the universe, Watch over all policeman and Law Enforcement Officers Protect them from harm In the performance of their duty To stop crime, robberies Riots and violence We pray, help them keep our streets And homes safe day and night. We recommend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous. Grant them your unending strength and Courage in their daily assignments. Dear God protect these brave Men and Women. Grant them your almighty protection, unite safely with their Families after duty has ended. The name of the author of this traditional prayer has been lost to history.

Peace is the healing and the elevating influence of the world.Woodrow Wilson 1856 - 1924 Peace is more the product of our day-to-day living than of a spectacular program, intermittently executed. Dwight D. Eisenhower 1890 - 1969 Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures. John F. Kennedy 1917 - 1963

Peace is a journey of a thousand miles and it must be taken one step at a time.Lydon B. Johnson 1908 - 1973 Peace is just not the absence of war: Like a cathedral, peace must be contructed patiently and with unshakable faith. Pope John Paul II 1920 - Peace is not only a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1929 - 1968 Peace is ...a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people. Jawaharal Nehru 1889 - 1964

Peace is... a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice.Baruch Spinoza Dutch Philosopher 1632 - 1677 Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict; alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.
