About three weeks or so ago, I was on a website of a Motion Picture Projection Equipment Museum in Chicago, Illinois. I stumbled across it by accident, and why I didn't bookmark it is beyond me. Now I can't find it. Does anyone know that link?

Thanks much.

Could that have been in the Film-Tech Picture Warehouse under "Chicago Cinema Museum"?

Yes, Brad. That was. Thank you. Do they have an actual web site, and is it open to the public?

The equipment is a long time collection of a friend in Chicago. He has literally traveled the world collecting equipment over the last 20 or so years. Among the collection are a Grandeur projector and Simplex SN 100, the fist production Standard made. There are probably well over 100 complete machines in his collection today and many cameras and other pieces of filmic history. There was a museum setup in Chciago on Erie St. for about 2 years but due to tax status difficulties they were forced to sell the building, or pay 200,000 in taxes per year. So now everything resides in crates in a warehouse. Although there was a visit to it by the people attending the Dolby Seminar in Chicago recently.

NUTS!

Mark, thank you for the information. I would have been like a hog in heaven to see some of that older equipment.

There was a nice motion picture projection museum in San Francisco for a few years (the Dick Bartel Collection) exhibits from the '00s to the 70's in all gauges, from old hand-crank machines all the way to a Century JJ and AW2 platter. And in the front window was a BEAUTIFUL Brenkert BX60 in all its full racing-stripe regalia... I miss that place...
