I am asking this question to all who have automations that are not built into your equipment (like CA21 for Christie is built in the lamphouse). Let me start with the two I work for. We have Cinemation Mark IV for all four houses operated by 24 hour show clocks where you insert pins for for their show start times. Also as backup (or we lose all the pins) we have Rodene 36 minute timers in two houses and the other two Cycle-Flex 60 minute timers. We can also interlock two projectors at the time with the Cinemations.

The other theatre we have Entertainment Engineering Cinema Controller made by Hadden Theatre Supply in all eight houses. This is like the new version of the pegboard automation but the pegs do not have diodes in them as with the Cimemations. It has full interlock cicutry. We also have failsafes in which the show shuts down on one or more of the following. Film Break, Brain Wrap, xenon out, Sound LED (or exciter) out, lamphouse door open, lamphouse vent failure. Some of these switches like xenon and sound can be bypassed if the event the switches itself fail.

We use two types of wall-mount autos: Component Engineering TA-10's and CFS wallmount units.

Perhaps this is better suited for the Film Handler's Forum?

Hmmmm, what's up with the sudden burst of film related questions appearing in the Yak forum. Is it because it says "Film Yak"? Of course the big question remains, if the name was changed to "Yakkin' with Bob Maar", would the forum's traffic increase?
