A friend recently was asking me this question and I had no answer.

We were speaking of the old Crown International flick "Stanley" starring Chris Robinson. Its about a man and his snakes.

Where does one go nowadays to find these old classics? There are very few indie TV stations anymore that are not affiliated with a network (FOX, WB, UPN, etc..) and I need some answers.

I want a fix of AIP films! I need trash!

Thanks!
Bruce

It seems as though as a film ages, it gets played less on television. If a film is from the last 20 years, it will appier on HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Stars and the Turner stations. After 20 years things slow down quite a bit. I hardly ever see films from the 70s or the 60s any more. After that they get picked over by stations like Halmark, Bravo and AMC. But they tend to go for quality. So television isn't a good medium to see obscure older films.

For that I would recomend specialty video houses.
