Don't blame me, Gerard planted the seed for this in the FHF

"Nan da to?!"
What the hell?!

"Eishagishi no tame no haiku da!"
It's haiku for projectionists!

MicroShaft fans (?) will recognize the source of this one:

DLP screen blank
Of no use is your ire
Avica is down

Paul
I wrote a sonnet
But now I've lost it
Brother, can you paradigm?

How bizarre ... I heard a Budweiser haiku commercial on the radio on my way to work today and thought up a couple of Imax haikus ...

Big screen overwhelms
Gives young patrons good cause to
Vomit in 3-D

Hot projectionist
Behind the window looks good
Damn, they're all sexy

Sound in theatre is too loud!
Whoever heard of a quiet war?
Turn the fader down.

Platters and xenon
Are no match for changeovers
And carbon-arc light.

Reel bell startles me
Pathway to booth disappears!
Projectionist trauma.

.....(Arigato gozaimasu)
Sake jug to Paul!
Basho laughs with glee to see
Haiku on Film'tech.

.....(Sensei)
Thirty years with kids
Twenty-six alone in booth
Which seems better now?

..........................................

"Go, strike another match and start anew...
'Cause it's all over now, Baby Blue."

Changeover approach!
Sheer terror on the switches!
Cue mark! Relaxed push.

Carbons squish in joy,
their mystic trapped brilliance
lights our fantasy.

People long for you.
Your power brings them your joy
in one film done right.

Dark sweet summer night.
Mosquitos dance in popcorn smells.
Their show must go on.

Small dots to the right
signal big changes to you.
Tiny mysteries.

A mile of pictures,
sorrow, joy, resolution.
All in a night's work.

Clark Gable looks up.
You glance in recognition,
pause, nod, and move on.

A machine at rest
bursts into life and performs
at your proper touch.

The stage lights go down
and your performance begins.
No one knows it's you.

Puppets on linen
Sakoku may not suffice.
No theatre will survive.

Basho on Fuji.
The fire looks into the fire
Ice surrounds their heat.

His socks in sock drawer
Older than some managers
He must work with now.
....Yu-No-Hu

Behind the port glass
How she threads film in the gate
Hands on lover's tie.

Revolving shutter
Slicing ninety-six slices
Baloney per sec.

The flicker of light.
The sights. The sounds. Film Done Right.
No one knows we're there.

Drive-ins are more fun.
Screw the indoor theaters!
I'll stay in my car.

Random organic grains
Fill fields of white
Vivid world of color
Film Done Right!

Million silicon pixels
Row's columns well defined
Reflections of what could be
In the mind.

Pressing a button
Paints bright pictures on the wall.
Let the dreams begin.
