As you probably know there is a website called Petition Online which host loads of most probably useless petitions. Here is the latest one (hoping its a joke) To: Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema Those of us who have seen The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring know what an amazing director Peter Jackson is. When I learned that there apparently was to be a sequel, I was overjoyed. However, Peter Jackson has decided to tastelessly name the sequel "The Two Towers". The title is clearly meant to refer to the attacks on the World Trade Center. In this post-September 11 world, it is unforgiveable that this should be allowed to happen. The idea is both offensive and morally repugnant. Hopefully, when Peter Jackson and, more importantly, New Line Cinema see the number of signatures on this petition, the title will be changed to something a little more sensitive. Sincerely, The Undersigned The link is HERE

LMAO! My friend and I were joking after Fellowship Of The Ring came out, about how someone, somewhere would get offended by "The Two Towers" and there would be a huge media frenzy and New Line would change the title just to shut everyone up, but that would cause another controversy and we would be caught in this mess... but I assured him that people really aren't that stupid. This is just as absurd as people demanding that Milton Bradley yank all of their "Jenga" games from store shelves. >>Update, 2002.0509: This petition has been suspended temporarily due to a lack of maintenance [read: intelligence] by the petition author. ? PetitionOnline.com<< =TMP= "You can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you just can't please stupid people." PS- Sorry for the double-post Brad! I got an "illegal operation" when submitting the other one and it didn't appear... Please delete the previous one.

quote: I sure hope I just made up an absurd example! (Which is what I meant to do). Yes, Jenga is the "game of skill and determination" where you stack up a tower of blocks and people take turns removing them and stacking them on top, making the tower more unstable as the game goes on. You have to try and not be the one who makes the tower collapse.=TMP=
Well, Yes
