Sorry this doesn't have to do with film, but we're almost on fire. There's a 70,000 acre or so fire burning about 15-20 miles from our theatre here and we're just waiting to be evacuated. I'm sure it's on the national news so you can check it out. Still, the show goes on...

Only 70,000 acres? That's nothin'! Up here in Colorado we have probably a dozen 100,000+ acre fires currently burning all within 1 mile of my home!

Yes, we have one that large and it is still burning. The next one is about 65,000 acres right now and it's out of control. Plus smaller ones scattered troughout the state. Also, did you see the in my post?

Have the fires affected print delivery, power supply, or attendance at your theatres?

We're up to at least 130,000 acres now. It's been pretty slow being as how half the mountain has evacuated. We got Minority Report on time and haven't had any power problems so far. It's pretty fun to watch, I'm kind of hoping for a day off.

David, according to the news reports, you are indeed on fire. The report indicated your town has been asked to evacuate, and I certainly hope you and your loved ones, along with all the people living in your town are safe.

My best wishes to you all.

Paul

I see that 100 or so New Zealand fire fighters are on standby to fly over & assist.

The headlines are indeed saying Show Low is indeed in the path of this 50 mile wide wall of fire. Apparently the two large fires burning in the area have merged into one massive fire that, by the numbers, may be even larger than the Hayman Fire burning in Colorado.

My parents, who live northeast of Colorado Springs, say Pikes Peak is getting completely blocked out of view from all the smoke coming from the Hayman Fire and that places like Castle Rock and even the Air Force Academy are now threatened by the blaze.

God, I hope this thing doesn't head south, or Will K and I are in trouble! Hopefully the firefighters will catch a break soon.

To David Whitbeck: Hope you are still safe. News reports say most Show Low residents are being evacuated to shelters. Good luck.
