Sean: thats been tradition at every theatre i've worked at on both the 4th and new years. Normal people (ie, people that don't work on holidays) don't have nearly as good a seat as the one I have for the big show!

I used to help out a friend of mine at a drive-in here in town in the '70s....one 4th of July we set off a huge repeating fountain from the top of the projection booth between movies. The owner was pissed, but the crowd loved it!
