From the Tonight Show website ...

And that's not even the one I was looking for! The black dog has a "what the f* am I wearing?" face on.

Near Venice Beach (which itself is just outside of Los Angeles), there is (or was as of about ten years ago) a store which sells nothing but "dog hats." A dog hat is just what the name would imply and I was quite amazed to see that a retail establishment in a high-rent district was able to survive by selling only these. I think I have a photo of the building somewhere....

I believe that the word "doggles" first appeared in the book, LIFE AFTER GOD.

Doggles was a dog that wore goggles. He was a Dr. Seuss character and he would have become famous except for the fact that he had a drinking problem. He was replaced by the cat in the hat.

LIFE AFTER GOD is a very entertaining book.
