2003 United States Federal HolidaysSchools, Banks and Government are usually closed on these dates. Wednesday, January 1, New Year's Day Monday, January 20, Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday, February 17, Washington’s Birthday Monday, May 26, Memorial Day and My Birthday (Mountainfilm) Friday, July 4, Independence Day Monday, September 1, Labor Day (Telluride Film Festival) Monday, October 13, Columbus Day Tuesday, November 11, Veteran's Day Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving Day Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day Working in a cinema means working each and every one of these holidays. The good news is that usually attendance is up. Working in a cinema also means taking Tuesdays off which is much better for shopping without the crowds and taking a holiday any old time I want. I tried to find a list of Religious Holiday’s on the web but all the search engine brought up were articles on the appropriateness of religious holidays in Public Schools. You’re on your own there.
