i'm going to be visiting a friend in Michigan City, Indiana the first week of December. Any great old theaters there i should check out?

I don't think there's anything left in MC. There's the funky 1980s Marquette and the typical boxy former GCC Dunes Plaza.

I wizzed through downtown while I was there, but didn't particularly notice any theater buildings, much less ones still operating. There is a live "Mainstreet Theater" on Franklin Street, but it's nothing to write home about. Looks like it was converted from a storefront.

The drive-ins are long gone.

There isn't anything worth seeing in Michigan City, lots to choose from in Chicago. If you are willing to drive a bit you can visit a very neat art house in Three Oaks, MI here

My Wife is from Michigan City, so we visit there often. There's nothing left downtown --- just the sanitized multiplexes on the south side of town.
