Just published in James Hyder's "Large Format Examiner":

______________________________________________________________________

LF projector maker MegaSystems Inc., has ceased all operations and
Ballantyne of Omaha, Inc., will assume all manufacturing, sales, and support
for MegaSystems' line of LF and conventional projectors, according to a
press release issued today. Ballantyne is a leading manufacturer of 35mm
projection equipment.

MegaSystems orders currently under contract will be fulfilled, and all
service and warranty obligations to existing customers will be honored by
MegaSystems' parent company, Pacific Art and Title, which made the deal with
Ballantyne. Pac Title will also retain the rights to the LF film, "Olympic
Glory," produced by MegaSystems in 1999.

MegaSystems president Cathy Neifeld will "assist Ballantyne's sales and
marketing of the MegaSystems product line," according to the release.
Sources tell LFX that most MegaSystems staff have been laid off, although a
few sales reps may transfer to Ballantyne.

The December issue of LF Examiner, to be published next week, will have
further details, as well as the following stories:

The Future of 3D, by Gord Harris
Kilimanjaro: Below the Ceiling of the Budget, by Arabella Cecil
The Yankees are Coming, or Are They? by Peter Crane

and all the usual features and departments.

What about the other MegaSystems products, such as the Hi-Tech automations? Will Strong be supporting them as well?
