Alinghi slide home to a 5-1 victory over Oracle BMW
Swiss win Louis Vuitton Cup for first time in history.

After copping a penalty in the first leg on which they lead, getting rolled in light air downwind by Alinghi, then suffering a tear in their jib on the final run, Oracle BMW are done.

The American team go home disappointed with only managing one win in the Final of the Louis Vuitton Challenger series while top dogs Alinghi go on to meet Team New Zealand in the America's Cup starting February 15.

Damn! If Larry Ellison had been able to Challenge and win the America’s Cup then next series would be held here in San Francisco.

Even though Russell Coutts who won the last Cup for New Zealand, is Captain of Alinghi, I hope New Zealand defends and wins the cup so it stays in New Zealand. Well, we will see.
