Hi all

It's a bit early to review this film but there are rumours floating around Australia about Olivia-Newton John and John Travolta signing up for Grease 3, and Kylie Minogue possibly signing up as their teenage duaghter although she has denied this.

Has anyone got the inside running on where production of this film is at and who has been signed and who hasn't?

cheers Peter

Since this isn't a review I'm going to move it to Yak. You'll get more replies there anyway.

Oh ok

I just thought film yak was unsuitable due to its mention of non-film topics

A key question is whether they'd let Michelle Pfeiffer sing again... Please nooooooooooooo!

cheers Peter

Justin Timberlake - N'Sync member

Lance Bass - N'Sync member without facial expression capability and one HELLUVA bad actor (think "On the Line"?)

Now how could you possible confuse the two James? [Wink]

Seriously though, wasn't Grease 2 enough torture? Do they really HAVE to make a third? Why not get that Kelly Whatshernuts and that Timberlake look-alike from American Idol and throw them in Grease 3? I'm sure it would be just as good. [puke]

Please, NO sequels, they detract from the original. Remakes are fine because they don't attempt to be extentions of the original storyline. Grease was a fine film and a great musical that deserved to remain in a light all its own. When they attach "revisions", it only muddies the water.

Same thing happened with "Smokey and the Bandit". The first one was great, and the sequels created a bad after taste that tainted them all.

Leave it alone.

In case you guys/gals didn't already know, my sad duty to inform you that the next Die Hard movie in the works will feature Britney Spears as Willis' daughter who is kidnapped (and hopefully brutally killed) by terrorists.

IMHO, musical ability does NOT equal film appeal. Jennifer Lopez, N'Sync, Spears, etc. all should just stay on the stage where we can try and ignore them.

I actually disagree, while sequels IN GENERAL are terrible ideas and usually aren't worth the thousands of copies made I have seen some really good exceptions. As much as I love Alien, Aliens was much better. The third and fourth were useless though. Superman, Predator, Back to the Future, Austin Powers (Goldmember better than Spy Who Shagged Me), Terminator all had at least "good" sequels if not better than the first and I'm counting on Matrix, X-Men, and the next Harry Potter movie to be better than the first (although Chamber of Secrets was a bit of a let-down for me).

I can't say I've seen all of Grease 2 as I couldn't stand Pfeifer either. Third attempt would only be good if it was a joke on the first, there is no way to make the original story continue well. /end opinionated remarks [Wink]

Amen! Where did this assumption begin? Even Gene Autry used to say he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

Okay, Barry, I'll give you "Back to the Future". [Smile]
