Well with all the other stuff that the WA ST government is pulling, last night on national tv, one of the city council members from Seattle, got on to explain why the police are no longer able to ask the resident status of people they deal with. The fact that illegal aliens are ILLEGAL makes no difference. Obviously these nitwits are in competition to see if they can be THE most politically correct in the nation.
So have no fear lawbreakers and terrorists, you won't be question about whether or not you are in this country legally in Seattle.

Honestly folks not all residents of this state are this incredibly stupid (just the ones that elect our officials)

I wonder if anyone has ever answered "yes" to that question?

AFAIK, that's so if you lied on the questionnaire, then committed an illegal act, there would be an additional serious crime that you could be charged with. Theoretically, even a minor infraction would then give a reason to arrest or deport a "troublemaker". If you admit to planning illegal activity, you would not be admitted through customs. Makes sense to me.

Yes except now the question of deportation can never come up because the police cannot ask you if you are "deportable". Maybe they could mime it somehow.

We have a similar place in Australia for stupidity, it is called Canberra and is our Federal capital (like your Washington).
A few weeks ago, serious bushfires menaced the place. If the firefighters were patriotic Aussies, they should have let the place burn down and would have received the gratitude of most Australians.
The place also is the porno capital of the country, besides being the home of inept and weak pollies, it is analogous to Never Never Land in that it is totally isolated from the real world.
Is Washington as bad as this?

Maybe they can ask somebody else to ask you.

We have two Washingtons. The US capital, which is not in a state, but rather a "district"(?) (the District of Columbia) and the "State of Washington" which is where I live and rant about. It is a state like NSW. Seattle is the biggest city in The State of Washington, although Olympia is the capitol.

Dear colleagues.
Thank you for the geographical correction, only have ever heard of the capital.

I think I know how to save our residents a ton of money on their heating bills. All they have to do is make some huge tunnels from the state legislature and senate chambers so they can evenly distribute all that massive hot air that is generated within.

At the beggining of the legislature session this year, the legislatures said they are going to roll up their sleeves and "Rock and Rumble"....

I took that as "rocking form one cheek to the other and passing lots of gas"... [eyes]

I was "frosted" today - I purchased a Chevy Van, and when I looked at the invoice it had a $35.00 B&O tax. When I asked the salesperson about that, he said that they pass it on to the customers because their B&O tax is so damned high they have no choice.

That's Washington State in Action!!!! [fu] [Mad] [sex] [puke]

Hey gang, Washington isn't "the most embarrassing state". New Jersey comes pretty damn close.

It's difficult to get car insurance here -- GEICO pulled out of New Jersey long ago and State Farm will soon follow. Half the people have SUVs -- drive 'em at 65 in a snowstorm and you'll roll 'em onto the roof and off the road into the trees. The state Legislature passes too many stupid laws -- can't use your cell phone while driving, can't pump your own gas.

At least "California knows how to party" -- the people there want to recall Gov. Gray Davis, puppet of the prison-industrial complex.
