Author Topic: Omar Freeman Passes Bob Maar (Maar stands for Maartini) Posts: 28608 From: New York City & Newport, RI Registered: Feb 2001 posted 02-24-2003 10:39 AM                        I have just learned that Omar Freeman, Freeman Theatre Service passed away late last week in Florida. Omar was 81 years old. He was one of the good guys in our Industry. For many years Omar was the head of Projection and Sound for RKO Warner Theatres and was based in New York City. He formed and operated Freeman Theatre Service with his wife Carol in Garden City on long Island. He, at one time, had a prefabricated electrical service system to allow rapid installtion of projection equipment in the pre-console days ( I am showing my age ) some concepts which are available today....from Neumade and some others.
