According to a report on CNN, Oklahoma has now surpassed Nevada on the highest per capita rate of divorce in the nation. I'm only mentioning this to update something I said in a past Valentine's Day thread regarding the state having #2 rank at the time.

Some other notable #1 ranks for OK:
* #1 in crystal-meth production
* top ranked state for lowest teacher pay
* OK is home to the worlds largest tire factory
* OK has the largest bomb making facility in the world (the munitions plant in McAlester, a 70 square mile facility that makes almost every non-nuclear bomb used by the US military).

Oh yeah, and once in awhile Oklahoma will kick some butt in college football and basketball. Yaay!

Is it true that whale hunting is illegal in Oklahoma?

Darryl, When I put up that theatre in Muskogee back in 69' there were a couple of female whales downing some cold beers down at the end of the local pub. They looked so bad I switched to martini's. [Smile]

Hey Bob are you sure it was a couple of whales or did a couple of cows find there way into that bar. [Smile]

I can't believe, no wait... I refuse to believe that Oklahoma is home to the world's largest tire factory. That is crazy and insane. I will not stand for it.

Oklahoma should be nuked.

According to the Dumb Laws web site (admittedly, not the most authoritative reference source), whaling _is_ illegal in Oklahoma.

Perhaps this would be a good place to mention the Exploding Whale, which I am sure everyone has seen, but is worth re-watching from time to time.

I remember when that happened. They considered it a "backfired attempt" because it created a bigger mess over a wider area.

I thought it was illegal there also. Just like Canadian Tire used to force dealers to sell inflatable rafts in Saskatchewan

Oh, so YOU were the one?! I still have nightmares about Muskogee, and none to do with Merle Haggard.

One could try to nuke the Goodyear facility in Lawton (the world's largest tire making plant, and is adding another 250,000 sq.ft. of factory space). But you would wind up taking out part of Fort Sill in the process. And then you would have to be an opening act on tour with the Dixie Chicks!
