On my recent visit to Italy, I also stopped by in Florence to see what Antonio Marcheselli really looks like - people often look amazingly different in real life from their member pictures.
Here is a picture of Antonio in front of the balcony featured in "Hannibal". It is in the scene where Dr. Lecter disembowels the police inspector and then throws him off the balcony.
Originally I had planned to reenact the scene (with Antonio as the inspector and me as Hannibal), but somehow the policemen guarding the entrance didn`t like the idea. Also the outside of the palace was being cleaned and I thought the scaffolding would spoil the effect of Mr. Marcheselli dangling from the balcony.
Anyway, here is the picture we ended up taking:
