Full Story (I don't know where to put this topic. I decided to put it in yak for now. However the conversation could easily turn political fast.)  |  IP: Logged Leo Enticknap Film God Posts: 7474 From: Loma Linda, CA Registered: Jul 2000 posted 05-12-2003 01:43 AM                        Well, Disney himself was a notorious anti-semite, so if - as I suspect is highly likely - part of Moore's agenda is to examine the links between the Bush administration and right-wing extremists in Israel, I'm sure Uncle Walt would have approved. The real reason is probably far more mundane, though. The next Moore rant stands to make a lot of money, especially after the publicity and controversy surrounding Columbine. Whatever your politics, investing in it represents a sound business decision. The Disney-owned minimajor picked up the project out of turnaround from Icon Productions. Why? Icon is based at Fox, a part of the News Corp. (Murdoch) empire. News Corp. also owns HarperCollins (which tried to suppress Moore's most recent book "Stupid White Men") and Fox News Channel (under investigation in England for airing slanted/distorted stories).
