I don't think I have even seen enough films this summer to list a top and bottom ten 'summer movies' yet...

Here's the ones I have seen (in no particular order)

The GOOD:

Finding Nemo
Seabiscuit
Terminator 3
Bruce Almighty
Matrix Reloaded

The 'JUST OK':

Bad Boys 2
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle
The Italian Job

The BAD:

Legally Blonde 2
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
I'll Be There (should be in limited US release by now, therefore it counts)
2 Fast 2 Furious

This is not going to be very fair since there have been so few good movies this year, but here goes my complete list to date...

EXCELLENT (deserving of multiple viewings)...
Holes
Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Caribbean
Open Range

GOOD (may watch again at some point down the road, just not any time soon, if ever)...
National Security
The Recruit
The Life of David Gale
Identity
Matrix Reloaded
Bruce Almighty
The Italian Job
Terminator 3
Seabiscuit
American Wedding

DECENT (made it through the movie without too much suffering, but will not be watching ever again)...
Final Destination 2
Shanghai Knights
Anger Management
X Men 2
The In-Laws
2 Fast 2 Furious
Bad Boys 2

FAIR (at best, spent a lot of the movie looking at my watch)...
Daredevil
Jungle Book 2
Dark Blue
The Core
Phone Booth
Agent Cody Banks
The Lizzie Maguire Movie
Daddy Day Care
Legally Blonde 2
Freddy vs. Jason

BAD (you will definitely be a better person for not seeing this)...
Darkness Falls
A Guy Thing
Kangaroo Jack
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
View From the Top
What a Girl Wants
Alex and Emma
Sinbad
Freaky Friday
Tomb Raider 2
The Medallion

TERRIBLE (someone deserves to be tortured for making this)...
Piglet’s Big Movie
Rugrats Go Wild
Dumb and Dumberer
From Justin to Kelly
The Hulk
Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle
Spy Kids 3D
Gigli
Uptown Girls

(Did anyone notice the only movies on the "excellent" category were from Buena Vista?)

Oh, I dunno...looking at the GOOD category, I see WB, Sony, Universal and Paramount represented. [Big Grin] [Razz]

Actually I'm quite proud of the fact that I managed to see almost all of the Good and Excellent films on Brad's list and have somehow miraculously managed to avoid every one of the Bad and Terrible ones, except "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" which I actually kind of enjoyed.

The good
Phone Booth
Terminator 3
Matrix Reloaded
Whale Rider
Igby Goes Down (this came out this year in the UK)
Agent Cody Banks (Great fun!)

The bad
The Core - bad FX, no story. Dire.
Hulk - shame on Ang Lee. What a waste of 3 hours for an after hours staff show!
2 Fast 2 Furious - even less plot than the first one.
Tomb Raider 2 - and the point in making a sequel was...?

Still hoping these will be great for the Winter season!
Finding Nemo (comes out October over here)
Kill Bill vol. 1
Matrix Revolutions
Party Monster

X2
T3
Matrix 2
2 Fast 2 Furious
Phone Booth
The Hulk

Walked out in the middle of "Holes"

Here's what comes to mind immediately (mostly art-house titles). A few of these may be stretching the definition of "summer," depending on release dates in each local market.

Stevie
Owning Mahowny
Winged Migration
Man on the Train
Holes
Sweet Sixteen
Spellbound
Matrix Reloaded
Dirty Pretty Things
Italian Job
28 Days Later
Finding Nemo
Phone Booth

OK:
Together
Blue Car
Hollywood Homicide
Seabiscuit
Daredevil
Whale Rider

Hated:
Shape of Things
L'Auberge Espagnole

I liked X2, Dirty Pretty Things, Donnie Darko(Yes a late release here), WHale Rider, , Magdalene Sisters, Italian Job the best

Pirates and T3 were pretty decent entertainers.

OK movies: American Wedding, Bruce alimighty, Freddy vs Jason, Jeepers Creepers 2. Freddy vs Jason just for the chance to see them two together, not for the quality of the movie. Bruce Almighty could have been better , but it went limp in the second half(a Tom Shadyac specialty, one of the worst director puppets out there).

Frustrating: Charlies Angels 2: No, I wasnt bored by it. So I can't say it is one of the worst. But they blew a huge opportunity to make something fun like part 1. The characters just crossed the fine line they were treading in part1 into obnoxious territory, and so did the director.
The bad:
I was bored by Matrix Reloaded.

Life of David Gale was one of the more annoying movies i have ever watched. Terrible acting by Kate Winslet. Spacey on autopilot. I hated every single character in this movie - every single one. Smug little piece of crap movie. So yeah, that was the worst of the year for me.

I wisely avoided most of the overhyped tentpoles (X2, The Matrix Reloaded, Hulk, Terminator 3). I saw 2 Fast 2 Furious and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle only because I saw the originals. Pirates of the Caribbean tended to drag in spots. Finding Nemo and American Splendor would have been better had the end-credits music been changed.

Worth your while: Bruce Almighty, L'Auberge Espagnole, Johnny English, Swimming Pool, Le Divorce, The Magdalene Sisters.

Stay away: A Mighty Wind, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Thirteen.

Underrated: Daddy Day Care, L'Auberge Espagnole, Johnny English, Camp (great premise/horrible title), The Magdalene Sisters.

Overrated: Winged Migration, Capturing the Friedmans, Whale Rider, 28 Days Later, Dirty Pretty Things.

Would Have Loved to See: The Shape of Things (all but disowned by its studio), Buffalo Soldiers (sabotaged for political reasons).
