For those of you who have cats, seriously, just what in the hell is in Pounce cat treats??? Every cat I have ever had or known just goes ballistic at a single mere shake of the Pounce can. It's like cocaine for kitties.

If you have no idea what I am talking about and have a cat, pick up a can. They are about a buck and will be with the cat food in your grocery store.

Probably a mixture of cocaine and ground mice.

I've got 3 of the little demons. One 30 pounder, and 2 normal sized ones. The 30 pounder is half wild mountain cat.

The normal cats won't touch Pounce. Sniff it and walk. The BIG one will devour any and all that he finds. Strange.

Also, NONE of my cats likes the hairball formula that Pounce sells. Strange.

Well, Pounce Tender Chicken flavor (hairball reducer) has...

Malt, syrup, mineral oil, wheat flour, water, soy flour, Beef, fructose, glycerine, animal digest, dried egg product, chicken meal, torula yeast, sugar, salt, dried cheddar cheese, phosphoric acid, gum arabic, chicken stalk, potassium chloride, potassium sorbate (used as a preservative), cellulose gum, titanium dioxide, calcium sulfate, red 40, BHA (used as a preservative).

My kitty loves the stuff! [Big Grin]

[Eek!] POUNCE!! Yes, every cat I've encountered loves this stuff. Problem is, I think it's very fattening for them and should only be used as an occasional treat. When my brother left his cat at my parents' house, my father bought some of these and pretty much gave them to the cat throughout the day. The cat gained a lot of weight. His excuse? "But he LOVES them!" [Roll Eyes]

Well now, take a bit of nitrate, add some IB Tech, stir in some 70mm, add a dash of magnetic striping and season to taste with a little 3D or Cinerama....and watch the Film-Tech'ers pounce.

Pounce is like crack for kitties ... then again, catnip is like that too.

My orange fuzzball, Kashmir, loves both, but I can get him to do tricks for Pounce. (Get your minds out of the gutter! He'll stand up on his hind legs & kinda dance, else he'll jump for those treats.)
Catnip just makes him act bonkers. [Wink]

Umm...some of the cat hairball remedies have quite a laxative effect...you'll only leave the stuff out where the cat can get at it ONCE [Eek!]

My cats hate pounce and most other treats.

They like taco bell, wendy's and anything else I eat that isnt a vegetable.

Dried apricots are Teenie Weenie's favorite treat. She also begs for fresh (uncooked) peppers, tomatoes, and corn on the cob.

Leo's link about Catnip doesn't tell why it has such an intoxicating effect on some cats, but not other animals.
