I am using Sygate Personal Firewall and so far it seems to be pretty damned good. An application appeared on my computer this morning called "Dameware" and it seemed to be a remote connection utility. I trashed that quickly and installed Sygate. Sygate is telling me the IP the access was being attempted from. Well since the app is in the trash it should be a problem any more, and nothing on my Windows PC is allowed to access the net unless I give it permission first. "NetBEUI" seems to try to connect to the net a lot, but I don't allow it. Doesn't seem to have any effect on my internet surfing habits. Hope that helps... That is just the Microsoft network software. Does a damn good job in my opinion.
