Author Topic: video-y lookin' trailers Carl Martin Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1424 From: Oakland, CA, USA Registered: Feb 2002 posted 09-30-2003 06:05 PM                        what is it with some recent trailers that look like they were taped off , but when you go to see the film it looks a whole lot better? not 70mm or anything, but a whole lot better. i'm talking about divine intervention, the cuckoo, and luther. based on the trailer, there's no way i would have seen luther, but since we're playing it i caught a glimpse of the feature and saw it looked completely different. i'd guess it was shot on film, then scanned 2k for effects, which is a whole lot better than the trailer looked. how do they expect to "sell" the movie this way? carl  |  IP: Logged Joe Redifer You need a beating today Posts: 12859 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: May 99 posted 09-30-2003 08:56 PM                        Many independent movies have their trailers edited on standard definition video, and they look horrible as a result. Whent he movie comes out it looks ten times better because it was shot on film.  |  IP: Logged
