What are some good places to host your website at? I'm currently looking at yahoo's plans, they have a business plan for about $13 to $20 a month. The website I'm planning is for small business purposes, and I don't intend to get too much traffic (Id eventually like alot of course). Trouble is that its' only 50mb of space you get but that may be enough for a while I think. We're not planning on anything flashy, just a basic website to sell a dvd I have in planning, as well as to promote a possible wedding videography business venture.

That doesn't sound too bad, I suppose. 50MB should be enough for such a small site. I don't know how dependable Yahoo is. I usually just use my own computer to host my site, but not everyone can do that.

You can't beat Tera-Byte Dot Com's hosting or their reliability.

I'm using boxnix.com for my site. 250MB disk space and 6.5GB bandwidth for $14 per month. Up to 250 mailboxes. If you sign up for a year, you get 15 percent off that. They have cheaper and more expensive plans. I'm using their "plan two". Here is their plan page: HERE.

I've had very good luck with ProNIC Solutions, with about 7 or 8 small-to-medium sites being served through them right now. I'll be moving BigScreen over there as soon as I have the time to do so.

I like the packages they offer, especially for the price. Much more competitive than I've run into in the past, and their support is very good (albeit E-Mail only, but responses are usually < 1 hour).

They're currently the only web hosting provider that I recommend to clients:

http://www.svjdesigns.com/webhost/

There were some others on that page, but have been removed due to reliability or support issues. I'm hoping to add more as time goes on.

I've had a very good experience with Avid Hosting since I started using them a few years ago. Right now I'm paying $20/month for 300 MB of space, 10 GB of transfer bandwith, 500 e-mail accounts, 5 mailing list accounts. I've never had an interruption in service and their customer service people usually get back to me within half an hour when I have question.

I've got the medium-sized plan, but they have everything from the tiny to the criminally-large in terms of packages.

I use www.bizland.com, and have been very satisfied with their service. Not sure about the rate, but I know it's not much.

I use doteasy.com for some sites. If it's a new URL and you pay them for the URL annual fee (around $18), the site itself is free! And that includes tools like counters, a really basic postings board, 7 email accounts, etc. I think that gives you 20MB of space and 1GB of traffic per month. You can get more as well as e-commerce, more advanced BBS (like this one) and other services for about another $7 per month.

The only problem I have with them is that I have a few specialty sites that don't get much traffic, but I get tons of SPAM mail to the email addresses that I use on the sites. I don't know whether Doteasy is selling lists of email addresses used on their sites or whether they're being obtained in another way, but if DotEasy was doing this, I would be pissed.
