Does anyone know where to start when trying to book a concert such as the bands (rock/country) you might see on a state fair tour?

There are a couple of annuals put out by trades.

But state fair-type bands are usually current stars or sort of recurrents, at any rate, they've usually got enough name to have albums & websites. They usually list the agency which bboks them. That's a short way.
