Someone please save me from this evil white hole that is winter. With the temperature hovering in the single digits, and the wind screeching of something aweful, I need things to do(Very Bored). What do the rest of you guys do to keep occupied? This normally isnt much of a problem, but if I get really bored, especially during winter, I get depressed.

Grrrrr...

You need to think warm... [evil]

Move to the Central South or Southwest US... Like to Texas or as far west as California where it's an hour's drive to the mountains and SNOW. Weather on your own terms!

It's where motorcycles live and convertibles thrive... and there is ALWAYS something to do. [beer]

Get a clapped-out Austin Healey & spend the winter getting it straight. Drive like a bat out of hell when the roads thaw.

Actually, that GT6 on eBay
would be just the ticket.

It's all there, looks straight, astonishingly easy & fun to work on, gorgeous car.

 -

And that famous inline 6 speaks straight to your nads.

Great idea Rach! Let's all put on our 100 pounds of winter clothes...thermal underwear, scarfs, ski-masks, 3 pair of pants and 3 flannel long-sleeve shirts. Then of course, don't forget to wear that heavy insulated jacket/coat and 2 pair of gloves...oh and the thermal socks, heavy boots and "rubbers".

Then let's see if the car will start so we can slide down the roads...don't bother stopping at the STOP signs...just wave as you slide by. Then, we'll trapes up some hill so we can slide down it. Gosh! Life is good in the North!

OBTW: Those are just some of the reasons I moved from my "youth-town" in Michigan.

I like snowboarding better.... when I want it.

Go nordic skiing - won't necessitate as many outer layers - once you get going, you'll keep yourself nice & toasty. [Smile]

Come to California where we complain about it being in the mid 30's and can wear shorts year round.

Let's see though... when I get bored... I go to the gym, or a movie, or organize my mp3's, photo albums, post on film-tech...

What else?

This is true. Up until two days ago you could have worn shorts and a tank top down here. You guys from up north could probably walk around in your underwear all winter long down here.

I like the sleeding idea, except ther isnt enough snow. Well, now, mother nature is getting pretty ballsy, even the snomobilers are getting pissed.

Funny, living on the edge of the world like this you'd think the winters could live up to their reputations, but we havent had a decent blizzard in like 5 years! Sheesh.

Sledding? JFC! How BORING! You need to move in with Rachael.

(Ah yes, Snowmobiling... and schnapps to keep ya warm!)

Why not put some spike/stud "snow-racing" tires on the Ninja and take that up the hills? Now, that would be fun! [beer]

Get a girlfriend (or boyfriend, depending on what you prefer). There will always be fun games to play. [Smile] Maybe start planning on moving elsewhere. Begin packing! Move to a huge city! Move to Colorado where radio waves only travel 18 feet! It'll be a challenge for ya! With lots of hard work and determination, you'll find a way to make the radio waves travel nearly 50 feet!

Now Joe you know he would be just as bored in Colorado. That state shuts down at 9pm! Besides that, we both know what the altitude does to cdrom drives and electronic equipment. [Razz]

Chris, just this evening I could've worn shorts and a tank top and been just fine. I think it mostly depends on the person. I'm sure our weather is plenty warm for Josh as compared to North Dakota, whereas the surface of the sun is too cold for someone like Ethan Harper! Ethan is always running around shaking from the "cold" if the weather drops down to the double digits. [Roll Eyes] Right Ethan???

Josh, I think today would make a damned fine day for you to straighten up the place and get out your camera to take pictures of your screening rooms and send in to the website! Today would also make an equally good day to shuffle through all your other theater pictures. (hint, hint) Once you have completed that you could watch some [dlp] , maybe [sleep] , then take a [bs] . Later you could take Joe's suggestion and [sex] , followed by chugging some [beer] and [puke] .

Nah, that all sounds pretty dull. Sounds like it's time for you to get out of the state again.

Gosh Brad...you sure are a prevert. Joe said nothing about [sex] !

He just said to get someone to play some games with... I'm sure he meant Monopoly, Crazy Eights, Scrabble, or perhaps Strip Poker. I mean that sure beats having someone to snuggle and "spoon" with on these long cold nights.

And, I'm sure that Josh being the up-right, and honorable person he is would NEVER partake in that evil fire-water as you are suggesting.

I do agree with you about him getting off his lazy ass and sending in the pics of his "rooms"... [Razz]

Sorry Coot, there's no icon for such enthralling games such as Yahtzee or Candyland. I was just workin' with what I had.

Come to think of it Josh, you could always sing Phil's song to yourself. Basically it's the Meow Mix tune, replacing the lyric "meow" with "coot". It's sure to bring hours of entertainment. [Big Grin]
