I didn't see anywhere else to post this. If it needs to be moved somewhere else in here, no problem.

This is to announce the passing of James MacDonald on Saturday, Jan 17 2004. He was the stage manager / stagehand sup't at the Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall in Asbury Park NJ.

He was active in the affairs of IATSE Local 534. He was 40. A truly nice guy that everyone liked, he will be missed.

There were no funeral services but a memorial service was held at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Wednesday night, Jan 21.

Bye Jim. We'll miss ya.

Better change the subject before a moderator sees it.

just saying 'Obits' or 'Obituaries' is too vague, almost to the point of 'teaser'.

The topic should have been 'RIP: James McDonald...' or similar.

As it is clearly stated in the FAQ teaser subjects are not allowed. Teaser headings suck because it causes the guy who matters (me) to have to click on the topic and wait for my SLLLOOOWWW dial up to load the site jsut find out it is something that I don't care about. Plus it doesnt help when you try to search. Who is going to think obits is obituary without opening this?

Whoa. You now know what an obit is. Deal with it. If speed is such an issue, don't waste your time opening the same thread twice, to complain twice.

Personally, I think putting all of the obituaries in a single thread is a good idea.

Gary, I'm sorry to hear about your loss of such a young friend. [Frown]

I can always find the time to complain [Big Grin] Sorry it bothered you so much Daryl.

Just a note, comments in my above were in general and not specific to this thread.

At some point in the near future I will lock all older obituary threads and request everyone use one specific thread to help keep things organized. In the meantime, putting James MacDonald's name in the topic is what I think Chris is getting at.

The positive thing to come out of this is that Chris Hipp will notmistakenly think that O'Bits are some kind of snack crackers. This will help keep hell from breaking loose at least one time it doesn't have to.

I already suggested a graveyard thread/forum and it was a no-go.

We already have an "Afterlife" forum. "Graveyard" may lead to some confusion.
