Comcast the cable giant is offering a 66 billion dollar buyout for Disney which is a 9% premium over the current stock price.
Mr. Eisner, the embattled chairman, refused to discuss the matter so Comcast went public about their offer. Some people feel that the buy out premium should be 30% instead of 9% so this should be interesting to see unfold. Disney is the last major that has not been bought out.

Comcast is uping rates because they say they are not making enough money, so where are they coming up with this $66 BILLION? Someone needs to look into this. We are being way overcharged.

It is a stock swap and assumption of 12 Billion of Disney debt....pushing paper to get content to show on many more cable channels and pay for view on demand venues.

My understanding is Comcast is a division of Time-Warner. Hmm. I wonder if any anti-trust folks are going to step in to control this at all.
