I'm sick at home with nothing much to do so I thought, "why not make a bid for a lame-thread nomination" (just in case there's a prize for that).

Certain people here have names come up in everyday expressions:

"I was just JOSH-ing you."
"I don't know him from ADAM."
"Nothing like a fresh cup of JOE to get me going in the morning."

(any others?)

Anyway, I was wondering if people with those names ever use those expressions?

Manny,

I have heard "I'm just Josh'n you" since grade school.

And yes I have used that expression, but only in jest.

Josh

Where the hell did some of these lame expressions come from?

I mean, "More _________ than you could shake a stick at"
Or "Wouldn't say boo to a goose".

I'm sometimes baffled
